Nobody’s Wife is all about two sisters, a marriage, relationships and betrayal. Laura Pearson is one talented author who makes sure she leaves her readers in tears and reaching for tissues. What an emotional ride it was!
Plot:
‘Of the four of them, only three remained. And there was no going backwards from there.’
Emily and Josephine have always shared everything. They’re sisters, flatmates, and best friends. It’s the two of them against the world.
When Emily has the perfect wedding, and Josephine finds the perfect man, they know things will change forever. But nothing can prepare them for what, or who, one of them is willing to give up for love.
Four people. Three couples. Two sisters. One unforgiveable betrayal.
From the best-selling author of Missing Pieces comes a heart-wrenching story about family, loyalty, and obsession that will have you racing to the finish.
Swathi’s Review:
The story starts with the wedding scene of Emily, where she is likely to get cold feet and comforted by Josephine. Sisters Emily and Josephine are close as thieves even though they are born to different fathers who were both absent in their lives. Now that their mother has decided to move to the other side of the world with her new boyfriend, the sisters have gotten even more close to each other.
Jo on the other hand, has found herself a good looking, boyfriend who seems to be way out of league. Their relationship gets a slow start, gradually deciding to move in together. Just as the sisters try to get settled in their new lives, things are about to fall apart and nothing will ever be the same again.
Right from the very first chapter, there is a sense of unease creeping in the plot and the troubles are about to knock down the door any time now. Beautifully written passages easily hooks the readers to the characters whose lives are made as intriguing as possible. They evoke emotions from the readers as a result of their actions, and hasty decisions that lead to the ultimate doom.
Nobody’s Wife is an exceptional tale of love, relationships and deceit, heartbreak and their dangerous aftermath. Laura portrays an accurate picture of the characters and their lives that made me feel very close to the book. Her writing is authentic, euphoric and connectable in various levels. It was fast paced and easy to binge read.
Overall a very lovable, intense story of love, betrayal and death. Another highly recommended novel from Agora Books. My hearty congratulations to Laura and Agora books on the publication day today and I am so proud to host the Blog Tour on this very day. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
All opinions are my own.
