About the Book

You’re not who you say you are. Neither is she.

She thinks she knows me.

She believes my marriage is falling apart at the seams, that my husband can barely look me in the eyes. She thinks I’m desperate for a baby, that my longing for a family keeps me up at night. As much as I hate to admit it, all of this is true.

She thinks I listen to her advice, that I care about her opinion. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Because she has no idea who I am. She has no clue that I know everything.

I know her secret. I know that she did the unforgivable. I know how many lives she ruined.

I know exactly what she did. And I’m here for her.

An utterly gripping, addictive and shocking read about the dark secrets we’re ashamed to admit, and the lengths people go to for revenge. Fans of K.L. Slater, My Lovely Wife and The Wife Between Us will be racing through the pages, gasping at the twists, and reeling from the explosive ending of this unmissable page-turner.

Swathi’s Thoughts

Beth has everything. A nice husband, a lovely child and a comfortable home where she practices marriage counseling to her clients. Until one day, Danielle and Peter Brown – her new client arrive and everything changes. Richard, her husband moves out and wants a break and Charlie, her son is in danger from her own care. What’s happening with her? Is she losing it again? Is she a threat to her own son? And most importantly who is this Danielle and what does she want?

Oh wow, I read this book in 5 hours and completely forgot to eat and sleep. I did not know which woman I liked/sympathized more but as the story progressed, the feeling began to slide toward the other character and I can’t believe how engrossed I was until I found out what was going on!

I love the way Ruth plays with family dynamics and relationships between women. It’s also interesting how she places her two main women – two professionals – one person revealing their innermost thoughts to another while the other knows nothing at all. Suddenly the power shifts and it’s all just a very dangerous obsession. I see a whole lot of client – counselor from this book and it’s astonishing to know how lonely and risky it must be to let a total stranger into your house. They could be anyone, couldn’t they? Especially when you have children around! Wow what an idea for a psychological thriller!

I’m on the blog tour for this one in June and can’t wait to share my thoughts on my blog with everyone else. This is a highly recommended psychological thriller with its fast paced, meticulously structured narrative and well developed characters. Bound to keep you entertained from cover to cover, I can’t wait for everyone to read this brilliant book.
