Swathi’s Thoughts

The House Party was an entertaining, fast paced suspense thriller for me. Had a great time reading it on a lazy Saturday.

So, Katherine is the hostess of this house party at their brand new huge modern bungalow that they’d recently bought. Their guests are a bunch of close friends who are like family, including Beth who can instantly spot the unease in Katherine, where it must have been excitement! When Beth tries to confront her good her, Katherine tells her that one of the guest is not as good as they seem and that she is scared. She also says that she is terrible secret and could destroy lives.

Next morning, Katherine is dead. And Beth is the only person to suspect her friend’s death. So she decides to pursue her own investigation. Carefully layered secrets and lies begin to spill as Beth starts to learn more about her close friends.

This is my first book from Mary Grand and I have no problem recommending it to my thriller loving friends. Carefully structured to reveal secrets at perfect places, Mary makes sure the suspense elements keeps her readers hooked to the book. There is tension right from chapter one and definitely not a party happening!!

Many thanks to Rachel for having me on the blog tour and Boldwood Books for an advanced copy. All opinions are solely mine.
