Book Review – Gallery of the Dead – Chris Carter

Hey guys! I’ve had a great productive day by doing what I enjoy the most – reading!

I love sharing my experience of picking an amazing book, that grips you till the very end. You know, the kind of book that gives you mixed feelings, you are dying to know how the story would end, but you don’t ever want the story to end. Damn you author!

Well here is one such book that recently gave that very feeling. The recent release by Chris Carter is yet another crime thriller – Gallery of Dead. The book is 9th instalment of the infamous Robert Hunter Series. The Book surely continues to create the same effect as its prequels that the readers, that the reader would never dare keep the book down!

A phone call to the Ultra Violent Crimes Unit, the most exclusive branch of the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division, Hunter and his partner, Carlos Garcia make their way to one of the most gut-churning crime scenes they’ve ever encountered.

Linda Parker’s body has been skinned completely as she lays dead on her bed. The entire room is painted crimson red, with her own blood. Her posture is almost natural, but the extremities to all four limbs are missing. Even more cruel, the killer has left behind am evil message on one unskinned portion of her body, that sends chills through the veins!

“Thirty-seven years in the force, and if I was allowed to choose just one thing to erase from my mind, what’s inside that room would be it.”

A psycho killer creates a “Gallery of Dead” using his victims bodies by creating a grotesque mess of blood and flesh, that he considers Art! As the victims fall one by one, the pressure builds upon Hunter and his crew, as they decipher the violent killer’s cryptic messages. Will the killer be caught before more victims fall prey?

Chris Carter leaves his audience on the edge of their seats, as usual. While I am pretty sure there is going to be a sequel to this amazing book, I also wish the book to have never ended! Yes, I read it in a single stretch and I still want more of it. Sad!

If you’re a new crime fiction reader, I’d say to start your journey with any of Carter’s books. They are fast paced, with a completely descriptive writing and promises a twist at the end of every damn chapter.
