Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent
Genre: Mystery & Thriller, Suspense, Fiction

Verdict: Must-Read book of the year!
About the Book:
Reclusive Sally Diamond causes outrage by trying to incinerate her dead father. Now she’s the center of attention, not only from the hungry media and police detectives, but also a sinister voice from a past she does not remember. As she begins to discover the horrors of her early childhood, Sally steps into the world for the first time, making new friends, big decisions, and learning that people don’t always mean what they say.
But who is the man observing Sally from the other side of the world, and why does he call her Mary? And why does her new neighbor seem to be obsessed with her? Sally’s trust issues are about to be severely challenged…
You MUST read Strange Sally Diamond. Period.
Liz Nugent has always been a brilliant person and her books are dark and riveting and thought-provoking but she’s aced herself with this one. It’s her best book yet and I’ve fallen more for this author than I’ve ever been. Cheers!!
Sally Diamond and her father had lived a solitary life and all was well until her dad died and she decides to follow her dad’s words literally and cremate him in their barn and suddenly her life is in the spotlight and revelations about her past become world News!
Sally is not autistic nor is she mentally challenged. She might be the way she is because of her difficult early life but she challenges herself to live better and follows instructions from people she trusts who care for her.
This book is mysterious with several things happening at once. Sally’s POV is honest and you’ll soon fall in love with her and her self growth. Was it thrilling? Hell yeah. It was dark and emotional and very intriguing and there are so many elements that the author delicately handles with care. There’s a story inside a story and we have dual perspectives and timelines making it very interesting to read.
Comes highly recommended from me. Strange Sally Diamond is simply one of my favorite books in 2023.
