About the Book:

Sam Huxton doesn’t do one-night stands, especially not with men she’s just met! But the hot guy at the bar was hard to resist and one night is all they share – no names, no numbers, just some much needed fun…

Until the same guy walks into Sam’s life the next day as her new employee.  Sam never mixes business with pleasure and makes it clear an office fling with Ryan is off-limits.  But after-hours…one thing can lead to another.

Can Sam trust her heart and her business with the new guy?

Swathi’s Thoughts:

Sam Huxton finds herself in a bar drinking more than she intended to, as she mourns the loss of her grandpa. When a ruggedly handsome yet shy guy sits next to her, all she wants is to have animal like sex with him for a few minutes and forget all about the real life. Turns out, this strange guy isn’t as easy to impress, which is quite new for Sam considering her fit physique and an immensely gorgeous red hair! After a series of agitating conversation, Sam does gets into bed with this strange handsome guy and there are no regrets. After all, she got what she wants and the guy is gone even before she got up the next morning.

After 3 hours exactly she finds the guy from last night at her office, her safe sanctum, as she learns his name Ryan Black, her newly appointed Software Developer who will be building her most awaited app for her company!

Ryan Black is equally appalled to see the hot lady he had sex with last night as his new boss and cannot imagine a weirder situation than that. He is shy, socially awkward and as Sam talks about the office more like being a family, he comes out only as a rude and arrogant new guy to his colleagues. Also, Sam has trust issues following her betrayal from her ex partner who left her defeated so badly that she can’t trust herself into relationships anymore.

The two of them cannot be more different. Yet the chemistry is so strong and sexy as these two come together in a chapter. I feel my heart racing at the steamy romance between the pair and can’t conclude which one I like the most. Ryan is so rugged and sexy with his hard exterior and a really kind heart that he reserves for the closest. While Sunshine Sam is the dream CEO you’ll ever want to work for!

God damn I wish she was my boss!

I loved the other characters in the book too. They’re all easily likeable and the author makes sure she doesn’t forget the plot of the book. The office atmosphere is very well developed and alongside the main romance between the couple, we also get to know more about Sam’s company and their latest project.

I totally loved this feel good contemporary romance by Kathryn Freeman. It was so refreshing to read and I can’t believe it’s stuck me long after I’ve finished reading it over the weekend. This is one of those books that should be made into movies with beautiful people in it!

Many thanks to One More Chapter for the digital proof of the book. My opinions are unbiased.

Meet the Author:

Kathryn started her working life as a retail pharmacist but soon realised trying to decipher doctors’ handwriting wasn’t for her. In 2011, backed by her family, she left the world of pharmaceutical science to begin life as a self employed writer.

She lives with two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to bother buying a card again this year (yes, he does) so the romance in her life is all in her head.
