About the Book

She wanted a second chance at happiness. She got a first-class ticket to hell.

Lydia Palmer seems to have it all – a thriving business, a beautiful house, a picture-perfect husband and two wonderful kids. But things are different behind closed doors – Lydia is desperately unhappy and wants a divorce.  Then, shockingly, her husband Adam dies.

When her grief eases, Lydia starts online dating and almost immediately meets Patrick. Handsome, successful, loving, he’ll make the perfect second husband.

But is Patrick too good to be true? Can you really find prince charming online?

These are questions Lydia is forced to ask when her world begins to collapse. First, the police say Adam may have been murdered. Then her daughter turns against her, her business disintegrates…

Lydia is convinced that someone is trying to destroy her happiness. She’s wrong. They want so much more than that…

Roses are Red is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you up until the early hours. Perfect for fans of K. L. Slater, Teresa Driscoll, and Andrew Hart.

Swathi’s Thoughts

Lydia and Ajay run a crafting business in which they’re equal partners. That’s where she met her husband Adam whom she married 10 years ago and have 2 kids. Although currently their marriage is going south and it’s also causing troubles in their business. Then Lydia discovers Adam having an affair with Ajay’s wife. Ugly quarrel occurs and Adam threatens to take the kids away.

And then suddenly Adam dies out of mysterious circumstances and all of Lydia’s problems are vanished. Soon she meets Patrick in a dating site online, a handsome man whom she falls in love with immediately and they get married. A marriage where they don’t invite anyone. Nor does she questions his anonymity. Even though she has very little concern to her kids disapproval. Is this whirlwind romance for real? Or is there something sinister behind this young man’s charm and charisma?

Roses are Red is a fast and easy read for those who would like to binge read over a lazy afternoon. It’s not your deep and dark, psychological thriller. The story is thrilling and there’s some level of suspense that will keep you going. Lydia Palmer is just too trusting. THAT is her problem. Rich widow with a huge house, successful business and no one to protect her. She’s so vulnerable that at times, I wanted to go into the book and shook the hell out of her and say “WAKE UP WOMAN!!!”.

However, if you are into reading crime fiction on a daily basis (like me!) you’ll probably guess the ending when you’re about 60% into the book. But as I always say, a book can differ from reader to reader and I’m sure many other readers will be glued to the book right from chapter one! (Chapter 1 is a real bomb!!!)

Many thanks to Emma at damppebbles.com for having me on the blog tour for this thriller. I’ll look forward to reading more from this author in future. All opinions are solely mine.
